About Glaucoma in Adults and Children
Glaucoma is a group of eye conditions that damage the optic nerve, which connects the eye to the brain and plays a vital role in vision.
It is commonly associated with increased pressure inside the eye, although glaucoma can also develop when eye pressure is within the normal range. While damage caused by glaucoma cannot usually be reversed, early diagnosis, the right treatment and regular monitoring can help protect your remaining vision and reduce the risk of further loss.
Glaucoma can sometimes develop without noticeable symptoms, particularly in its early stages and can affect both adults and children. The causes, signs and treatment approach may differ depending on age and the type of glaucoma.
