Chené Narothan is a clinical optometrist at Moorfields Eye Hospital Dubai, based in Dubai Healthcare City.

With over eight years of experience both regionally and internationally, she specialises in general and paediatric optometry, as well as the fitting of specialist contact lenses, including orthokeratology and myopia management.

Chené has practised in various medical institutions in South Africa and the UAE.

To further her expertise, Chené has completed advanced courses in scleral lenses, wavefront customised lenses, and myopia management. She holds a degree in Optometry from the University of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, awarded in 2015.

Eden graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree from the Centro Escolar University, Philippines.

She has more than 14 years’ experience as a practicing optometrist in well-known eye hospitals in the UAE. Whilst specialising in contact lens fittings, Eden’s other fields of interest include Pre-Lasik Testing, Visual Field Analyser, Corneal Topography, Fundus Photography, IOL and Calibrating Excimer Laser.

Israa Al Areiby is an Optometrist at Moorfields Eye Hospital Dubai in Dubai healthcare City.

She has more than 16 years of regional and international experience in General Optometry and Refractive surgery in countries including The Netherlands and the UAE.

Her other fields of interests are Fundus Scopy, Refractive Surgery, research, Corneal Topography and Fundus Photography analyzing.

In her career, she has practiced in leading medical institutions such as The Eye Hospital in Rotterdam- The Netherlands, Amphia Hospital in Netherlands and general hospitals in the UAE.

She holds Bachelor of Science in Optometry from the University of Utrecht in The Netherlands in 2008.

Jessica Sun is an Optometrist at Moorfields Eye Hospital Dubai in Dubai Healthcare City.

With over 17 years of international experience, she has dedicated the last 12 years to paediatrics.  Her expertise in paediatrics is complemented by a broad skill set in optometry, encompassing refraction, soft contact lens fitting, ocular health assessment, and ocular therapeutics.

Jessica served as a mentor to optometry students and training doctors in Singapore and New Zealand.

She has practised in both hospital and community settings, with her most recent post at Singapore’s KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital. In New Zealand, she worked for Luxottica and was given the opportunity to work in various locations in the country, allowing her to see patients of different demographics.

She holds a Bachelor of Optometry from the University of Auckland, New Zealand, 2006 and is board-certified in Dubai, Singapore and New Zealand.

Joana Marta is a highly qualified and dedicated Optometrist specialising in Specialty Contact Lenses at Moorfields Eye Hospital Dubai in Dubai Healthcare City.

She earned her Master’s degree in Advanced Optometry from the Optometry Center of Boston, Madrid, Spain, enhancing her expertise in this ever-evolving field.

With over 15 years of experience, Joana has served as a Specialist and Professional Service Consultant in Portugal, where she represented leading international contact lens manufacturers such as Ultravision and Bausch + Lomb in the UK, SynergEyes and CooperVision Specialty EyeCare in the United States. Her tenure in Portugal and Spain was marked by significant contributions to technical guidance and the promotion of best practices among eye care professionals, cementing her reputation as a leader committed to excellence.

Joana is also active in the Vision Sciences and Ocular Health Community, regularly attending training courses and speaking at conferences. Her ongoing commitment to education and professional development in her field is a testament to her dedication to advancing ocular health and vision sciences.

Katie is an Optometrist at Moorfields Eye Hospital Dubai in Dubai healthcare City.

She has more than 5 years of international experience in a wide range of optometric areas, including refraction, contact lenses and ocular health assessment in the UK.

Her other fields of interests are paediatric eye care as well as education and training. Katie served as a mentor and educator for optometry students and pre-registration optometrists in the UK.

In her career, she has practiced in a community setting, managing day-to-day optometric clinics, as well as leading paediatric, red eye and emergency clinics.

She has an Optometry degree from the University of Ulster, as well as further accreditations in cataract, glaucoma and minor eye conditions.

Tash is an Optometrist at Moorfields Eye Hospital Dubai in Dubai Healthcare City.

With over nine years of international experience in Optometry, she is experienced in refracting adults and children of all ages. She has expertise in fitting soft and gas-permeable contact lenses, conducting ocular health examinations, and dispensing ophthalmic lenses in the United Kingdom.

In her career, she has practiced in a community-based setting and played a significant role in providing Enhanced Optical Services through the NHS. Her duties included conducting pre- and post-operative Cataract assessments as well as refining Glaucoma referrals to manage hospital service referrals in London.

She began her career in 2013 as a Dispensing Optician after completing the necessary qualifications. In 2015, she earned a Bachelor of Science in Optometry from City University of London. Additionally, she has obtained accreditations from Wales Optometry Postgraduate Education Centre in Glaucoma, Cataract, and minor eye conditions services.

Taisear Ali Alqwaqezah Optometrist at Moorfields Eye Hospital Dubai, In Dubai healthcare City.

He is a highly qualified Optometrist with more than 20 years of experience in his specialist field. His expertise extends across a wide range of key vision tests and diagnostic techniques, including general eye testing, OCT, Visual Field, A-B Scan, Intra-Ocular Lens Master, Fluorescein Angiography, Pentacam, Fundus Scopy, and Intra-Ocular Pressure Measuring.

Taisear graduated as an Optometry & Optical Technician (Optometrist) from university in Jordan before starting his career in Jordan as an assistant optometrist at a leading hospital in Amman. He then continued his professional career in leading general surgical hospitals in the UAE, as an Optometrist & Ophthalmic Assistant, before joining the team at Moorfields Eye Hospital Dubai.
