Leah is an experienced orthoptist who has worked for 6 years in the National Health Service in the UK. She is experienced in the investigation, diagnosis and treatment of binocular anomalies in adults and children. She has experience with strabismus and amblyopia, nystagmus, congenital and acquired neurological disorders, and complex ocular motility disorders in both adult and paediatric patients.
She also has a special interest in working with children and adults with special needs and learning difficulties. In her previous position at the Royal London Hospital in the UK, she was responsible for this specialist service. She also worked closely with the neuro-ophthalmology team to develop an orthoptist-led clinic for patients with the neurological condition IIH.
Leah graduated with a Bachelor of Science with Honours in Orthoptics from the University of Liverpool before joining the Mid Essex Trust for 2 years. She then worked as a Specialist Orthoptist at the Royal London Hospital before moving to Abu Dhabi in October 2022 to join the team at Moorfields.
