Michael is a qualified Chartered Accountant and has had a professional career of over 23 years, the last 12 of which were spent working in his current position as group chief financial officer of one of the largest healthcare investment and development companies in the UAE. Prior to this Michael spent 8 years working initially as an auditor and then management consultant for one of the big four accounting firms.
In her role as the Chief Marketing & Communications Officer, Mrs. Farah Al Alami leads the marketing and communications function on a corporate level and throughout UEMedical’s subsidiaries.
With over 12 years experience in healthcare communications and PR in the Middle East (ME) region, Farah served most recently as the Regional Director of Communications & PR in ME, Turkey & UK for US-based Cleveland Clinic from 2013 – 2016.
Mrs. Al Alami is also an elected Board Member at the Middle East Public Relations Association (MEPRA), a non-profit member association, established to set world-class standards for the public relations and communication industry in the Middle East. Throughout her experience, Farah focus was on healthcare marketing and communications.
Mrs. Al Alami holds an MBA (with distinction) from New York Institute of Technology (NYIT), and a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing from the Yarmouk University in Jordan.
With his extensive background in healthcare management, Mr. Abu Zant brings a wealth of international and regional experience to UEMedical’s network of hospitals and clinics.
Since joining in 2007, he has been a driving force behind the successful collaborations with leading international healthcare providers, creating strong partnerships to enhance and promote quality healthcare services in the UAE.
In his role as Chief Operating Officer of UEMedical, and CEO of HealthPlus Medical Services, he oversees the planning and execution of key healthcare projects across the group.
Mr. Abu Zant holds a Master’s degree in Healthcare Management from the Royal College of Surgeons, Ireland (RCSI) and a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology and Immunology from McGill University, Canada.
Mr. Elhadi Hassan has been Managing Director of Moorfields Eye Hospital Dubai since 2016. His most recent previous experience includes holding the title of Group CFO for Al Noor Hospitals Group. In addition to holding an M.B.A. in Finance, and a B.A. in Business Administration, he has been a Certified Public Accountant since 2001.
Mr. Elhadi has a wealth of experience gained both internationally and nationally, with over 20 years of experience in various sectors such as healthcare, higher education and service industry. He is a highly accomplished, result-driven CFO with progressive experience in Finance, Operations, Material Management, Revenue Cycle, and Strategies within mature or start-up global multi-million dollar corporations (PLC). His ability to streamline operations and finance has helped Fortune 250 companies he worked with achieve growth, increase efficiency and improve bottom-line.
Dr. Ammar Safar is the Medical Director of Moorfields Eye Hospitals in the UAE since 2018, and a Professor of Ophthalmology at the Mohammed Bin Rashid University Of Medicine and Health Sciences. Dr. Ammar holds a certificate in Healthcare Management from Cornell University and has previously served as the President of Medical Staff at American Hospital Dubai. He is American Board Certified in Ophthalmology and is a highly experienced consultant in vitreoretinal diseases and surgery.
Dr. Ammar has over 20 years of experience and trained in Georgetown University in Washington, DC and the University of Texas, Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas, USA. Dr. Ammar then went on to hold the position of Assistant and later Associate Professor and Director of Vitreoretinal Surgery at the Department of Ophthalmology, Jones Eye Institute, University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, in the United States.
Ms. Maha Aboughali is the Business Development and Marketing Director of Moorfields Eye Hospital Dubai, since 2007. Her previous experience includes Marketing and Management roles in multinational and national organisations, both nationally and internationally. In addition to holding an M.B.A. with a concentration in Management (Honors), she also holds a B.B.A. with a concentration in Marketing, obtained from the University of Texas, USA.
Ms. Maha possesses over 20 years of experience across various sectors, including a multinational telecommunications company, a multinational advertising and marketing agency, and a US based retail subsidiary company of Berkhsire Hathaway. Her healthcare industry management experience spans over 12 years. Her main drivers include long term strategy and relationship building, effective communication, detailed planning, and efficiency in implementation and execution, in order to achieve a sustainable and long term organizational growth, with the help of both external and internal key stakeholders to the organisation.
